Are your solar installers all qualified tradespeople?
A solar installer must be an electrician. It is a legal requirement and part of our strict safety standards. Therefore, every install will always have a licensed electrician onsite. We always use Orange Electrical tradespeople for solar installations.
Depending on the job size, most installations require at least three tradespeople. This typically means a qualified accompanied by other staff on-site.
We employ apprentices as part of our commitment to training the next generation of solar and electrical technicians.
We are fortunate in having a team of enthusiastic, knowledgeable and capable tradespeople, who are proud to serve the community on behalf of Orange Electrical Works.
How long does it take to get a new solar power system installed?
Installation always begins with an initial 1 hr consultation.
During the meeting, our highly trained staff will conduct an assessment of your home. This usually involves getting on the roof, checking screw lines and opening up the switchboard to fully understand your circumstances. Any requirements and considerations will be thoroughly explained to you.
We are also there to listen; we want to know about your lifestyle, energy usage and location to ensure we design the best system to meet your home or business goals.
Once we have designed and ordered the right system for you, we will book the installation. The entire process usually takes between 4-8 weeks.
Will I be without power during the installation?
It depends on the size of the system being installed. Generally, power isn’t down for more than an hour.
For larger, more complex systems, power may be down for longer. We always communicate with our customers to ensure inconvenience is minimised.
Can I choose what day you install my solar power system?
Absolutely. We will book around your schedule.
